In Search of the Mythical Saraswati River

The Union government has launched a project to trace the Saraswati, a river that has been mentioned in the Rig Veda. The project has been dogged by controversy. The Rig-Veda mentions the Saraswati as a mighty river originating in the Himalayas and flowing Southwest towards the Arabian Sea.
